Staycation

February 22, 2016

Our anniversary was February 17th, and the beau and I celebrated 7 years together. We wanted to go somewhere for a mini-vacation, but like always, life got in the way. We couldn't schedule the same days off together, and worried too much about who could watch our Shiloh. We finally had everything set- the week before, we managed to both get two days off together, Wednesday and Thursday, we decided on a staycation. Luckily, my mother in law had a week off, because of winter vacation, and she watched Shiloh for us. Yay for MIL!

To book our hotel, we used HotelTonight. It's an app in the AppStore and on Android's store. (Looking for $25 off your first booking? Use my code AHuaraca1 on a booking of $135+)
It offers affordable prices on any New York hotels for the same night, or you can book a week prior. We booked a week before, and snagged the Lex Hotel on 26th and Lexington Ave for $124. What What!

The beau got to the hotel before I did, and surprised me with a bouquet of flowers, macarons, and champagne. We also got upgraded, and our room was on the 7th floor, with a balcony and a nice view of the Chrysler building.

We had dinner reservations at 8pm, and got ready together while we sipped champagne. Yes, I was so tipsy before dinner, but when you're a parent, and don't get a lot of date nights, being tipsy together is so YES! Dinner was so amazing, and if I wasn't so tipsy, and maybe could've caught a nice video of the jazz music playing during dinner.

We had an amazing staycation in our beloved New York. Such a lovely anniversary idea if you're on a budget and late on planning for the date.

xoxo,

Annie
